About the Author

 Dear reader,

my name is Andrea Zanini, I am a wine writer, member of the FIJEV (Fédération Internationale des Journalistes et Ecrivains du Vin et Spiritueux, in English: International Federation of Wine and Spirits Journalists and Writers).

 I collaborate with notable Italian and international gourmet publications.  My wine writing activity begun several years ago, combining two of my strongest personal interests: wine and journalism.  My favourite topics are tasting, wine judgement, wine-food blends, heritage and “terroir” of viticultural regions, tourism, wine&food-related entrepreneurship and people.

 I am based in Northern Italy, on the shores of the spectacular Lake Garda.  Hence, I am a specialist of Italian wine and food in general, and particularly, of vinous and palate assets from those regions bordering on Lake Garda: Lombardy, Veneto, and Trentino Alto Adige.  Nevertheless, my interest has no boundary.  Hence, I have gained precious knowledge of fine wine and succulent food from other regions or countries in Europe and in other continents, as for instance Tuscany, Piedmont, Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Portugal, Spain, California, Australia and New Zealand.
